Why is physical testing needed for e-passports?
Governments want to maintain their image, contain the costs of their
e-passport migration and satisfy citizens. Such long life identity
documents bear a lot of stress in the long term, hence the need to
assess the durability of e-passports.
The purpose of this session is to validate the physical conformity of the identity documents according to ICAO Layer 1 (physical characteristics). FIME proposes for this session these tests:
