Manufacturers of e-passports and e-passport readers have participated
to regular e-passport testing sessions, with one requirement in mind: "Readers shall be able to read all ICAO compliant passports". Such interoperability deals with differents competencies:
- RF interface interoperability (analog characteristics)
- Protocol interface interoperability (digital characteristics)
- Application interoperability
