TESTS > Interoperability testing

Interoperability testing of systems is part of integration processes, be it for smart cards, e-passports or RFID. It is today a key factor in IC market evolution. FIME has built integration platforms with approved readers so as to verify interoperability with cards, e-passports or tags. The aim is to make sure that communication goes as expected and to spot where and why it stops whenever there is a failure.

Contactless interoperability: Combination testing or cross testing
Combination testing is an excellent way to prepare your product for contactless interoperability in the field. It allows you to identify at an early stage of your project any possible issues, to correct them and ensure your product will pass formal combination testing with the payment network.
E-passport testing: Interoperability
E-passports are passports with a chip and RF capability. As such, they meet the same requirement for interoperability as all other RFID systems. Compared to RFID tags in closed environments, e-passports are much more subject to interoperability issues given the open nature of this worldwide deployment project.
Interoperability of smart cards and devices
Interoperability of smart cards and devices is a challenge for the IC market, and FIME has had a very proactive approach to it for several years.
