FIME has become a member of the leading smart card infrastructure development organization, GlobalPlatform. With FIME's leadership in test tool development, its contribution to the promotion of GlobalPlatform as a standard is looked forward to.
GlobalPlatform has released test plans and requirements exclusively to its members. They can now develop the appropriate tools to test a card manufacturer's compliance to GlobalPlatform Card Specification v2.2 market configurations. FIME has therefore developed, with a contribution from Clear2Pay, a GlobalPlatform compliance test suite. This suite is user friendly, extendable and pluggable, enabling the testing of v2.2 specifications from a business point of view.
As well as providing the test specifications aimed at GP2.2 UICC cards, recommendations for implementation are also included in this new version as well as Mapping guideline. The extension to other types of GlobalPlatform products is on the horizon.
FIME will participate in a TestFest for this new product in March 2010, which thanks to cross testing carried out by various actors across the industry will result in GlobalPlatform validating and certifying the tool. In addition to this first step and following the certification, FIME will apply for the accreditation of its lab to provide GlobalPlatform test services to the card industry.
