FIME is a distributor of MasterCard's ETEC test cards, designed to allow you to test that host and terminal payment applications comply to MasterCard Terminal Requirements. Card/terminal interoperability is ensured when the ETEC pass criteria are met.

MasterCard test cards are suitable for any kind of terminal (POS, ATM, integrated-POS or others). ETEC test cards are used in conjunction with the MasterCard simulator for authorizations applicable to the acquirer's region (different simulators are available for different MasterCard regions).

The ETEC cards are grouped into different subsets, each with a specific objective to test different criteria and terminal applications. Each set is presented in a binder containing both test cards and a detailed user manual. Each card has a unique reference that relates to a test case in the user manual. The manual clearly describes the objective of the tests and the expected terminal behaviour.

ETEC subsets are available to terminal vendors, acquiring banks and service providers willing to obtain acceptance of international debit/credit cards. They provide you with a way to shorten system integration within your acquiring organisation, using an application pre-validated with the test cards.

Terminal credit and debit EMV smart card applications can be tested with the ETEC test cards during application debugging and during system integration of the terminal in the acquirer environment.

ETEC subsets 1, 3, and 5 are designed for use in EMV TIP testing and certification while ETEC 13 is used for Swedish domestic dual-message acquirer host debit/credit application interface to MasterCard's network systems.

Maestro UK is a specific subset dedicated to UK acquirers.
