Digital Identity certification

Verify the implementations for compliance with ISO/IEC 18013-5:2021 and ISO/IEC 18013-7:2024 standards.

(to update) Validate the implementations of mdoc and mdoc reader using the ISO/IEC 18013-6 test methods standards and and Fime’s proprietary 18013-7 test case specification to assess conformity to the abovementioned ISO/IEC standards and prove interoperability.

Digital Identity certification

Overview.

The digital identity landscape is rapidly evolving and requirements around interoperability, functionality and security are emerging in the EU, USA, Australia and other parts of the world.

To support and build a trusted ecosystem, Fime operates a Certification Body in the digital identity domain. Our governance and decision-making processes are aligned with principles of ISO/IEC 17065, and evaluations are performed by laboratories working in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.

The Certification Body can support the delivery of functional, security and composite schemes through our in-house and partner laboratories.

Our values of impartiality.

Impartiality is at the core of Fime’s certification activities. Our consulting activities are managed separately from FimeCB and operated under the Consult Hyperion brand. By maintaining strict separation between consulting, evaluation, and review & decision making, we safeguard objectivity and uphold impartiality. This not only fulfills international certification principles but also ensures trust, transparency and credibility in our certification activities.

Scope

As an independent 3rd party, Fime currently provides compliance / conformance testing and certification for ISO/IEC 18013-5:2021 and ISO/IEC 18013-7:2025 for implementation providers of mobile driving license (mDL) holder/wallet and mDL reader applications

 Deliverables

Upon successful evaluation, FimeCB issues test reports and confirmation letters that describe the test scope and results and confirm conformity with ISO/IEC 18013-5:2021 and ISO/IEC 18013-7:2025.

Use of the
Fime-tested mark.

In addition, on demonstrating successful compliance, the customers will have the right to use the Fime-tested mark subject to a license agreement. Fime-tested mark is currently a non-accredited attestation of conformity while we prepare for an external accreditation of the FimeCB.

For more details on the mDL certification and on testing for other mdoc types, please refer to the DI comiance testing services.

EUDI wallet certification.

Additional scope will be added for the certification of the EUDI wallet including interoperability, functional, privacy and security requirements as they emerge.
